For over 20 years, I have had the privilege and joy of working with students from Kindergarten to Grade 12 in a variety of settings—from vibrant city ravines and serene forests to the corners of busy school yards. Whether outdoors or in the classroom, I bring the same sense of curiosity and connection, making learning interactive, engaging, and meaningful.
My dedication to structured literacy grew from a deeply personal place—supporting my own child through the challenges of learning to read and write. That journey strengthened my commitment to making literacy accessible, joyful, and empowering for every learner.
I hold a Special Education Specialist certification and spent over two decades in Outdoor Education with the Toronto District School Board. I’ve shared my work at conferences in both literacy and outdoor education, focusing on practical, engaging strategies that meet the needs of diverse learners.
Today, I continue to integrate structured literacy with land-based learning, creating opportunities for students to connect with both language and the natural world in ways that inspire curiosity, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning.
